please sign our petition . . .
supporting the bill for IMPROVING THE SAFETY OF VEHICLE ROOFS. We have proposed a bill for Congress to pass which will adequately strengthen roofs and substantially reduce the annual deaths and catastrophic injuries due to the crushing of the roof into the occupant's survival space in rollover accidents.

who we are
People Safe In Rollovers Foundation
is a
public non-profit organization with a Section 501(c)(3)
tax exempt application pending. One of the primary purposes
of the Foundation is to inform the motoring public of the devastating ramifications of the proposed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 216 - Roof Crush Resistance.
The proposed standard will not protect from the crushing of the roof into the occupant's survival space in the event of a rollover accident.
An automobile manufacturer who meets the proposed standard would be protected from liability should the passenger be killed or catastrophically injured in a rollover roof crush accident.
our goal
To persuade Congress to use their power to enact a law for STRONG ROOFS before NHTSA announces the final rule for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 216 - Roof Crush Resistance (FMVSS 216). NHTSA's deadline is July 1, 2008.
projects
People Safe In Rollovers Foundation has sponsored billboards delivering the message that strong roofs save lives. The billboards are in honor of people who has been seriously injured or killed in a rollover. Over the 2007 Christmas holiday a billboard was strategically placed in Little Rock, Arkansas to get the attention of Senator Mark Pryor, Chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Automobile Safety. In September 2007 we joined Kevin Moody and his family in Washington, D.C. and delivered black boxes of roof crush materials to Capital Hill. We helped roof crush victim David Garcia by giving him a new laptop.
